- The Seismic Test Facility (STF) at the Cecil and IDA Green Pinyon Flat Observatory This facility consists of four subsurface vaults with instrument piers for testing instruments. In addition, there are two 7m-deep postholes and three 100m-deep boreholes used to test new sensors or permanently accommodate standard models. Sensors are tested here before deployment to GSN stations.
- Operations laboratories — Revelle Lab 4118 and 4119 These labs are used for systems integration, testing, and shipment preparation.
- IGPP Shake Table Laboratory – Munk Laboratory 1A These tables are used to calibrate sensors before and after field deployment.
- IGPP Seismographic Vault This instrument pier and vault are used to test sensors for functionality in a high noise environment.
- IGPP Network Operations Group (NetOps) and The Solarium Computer Facility The quaint name for our computer room derives from the Sun Microsystems computers that were once the Data Collection Center’s workhorses. The last Sun was retired several years ago. NetOps currently hosts IDA VMs on a redundant server cluster.
